TV Talk Podcast Update & Listener Questions

September 29, 2009 – 9:25 am

Hey listeners, Kath and I wanted to take a minute to thank you for all of your support, comments and recommendations! The TV Talk Podcast has been growing all summer and we can’t thank you enough for being such loyal amazing creatures.

Now that I’ve buttered you up, I wanted to quick just write and let you know that we won’t have a podcast for a couple weeks.

(ducks to avoid tomatoes)

We were supposed to meet up this past weekend but medical issues complicated things and it didn’t happen and that was the only time we had available until after October 15th.

Yes, Ducky is off gallivanting once again. I’ll be working a job out of town for a couple weeks but promise as soon as I return, The TV Talk Podcast will be back on a regular schedule!

In the meantime, we want you all to come up with some killer listener questions you’d like us to address.

What’s our favorite new show? What old shows are we giving up on? How do we watch so many shows? What’s our favorite cable channel? Why don’t we have HGTV boyfriends… anything goes so ask away!

We’ll do our best to answer as many questions as possible in our first podcast back so leave comments in this post or better yet, call our Snapvine line and leave us a voicemail question/comment!

  2. It’s not a difficult/killer question–I had posted it in your CBS fall podcast comments section–wanted to know if they just redress/reuse one hallway set for each of the floors in Big Bang Theory—i.e have them start conversation, walk up stairs, then change set to next floor, continue, etc. or do they actually bother to have multiple sets?

  3. What are your thoughts on the Glee musical performances?
I’m with Jason from TVx3 where it just comes across real bad. It just looks like someone hits play on the CD player and they start lip-synching. They need to get a few tips from the Pushing Daisies crew because whenever Emmy Winner Kristen Chenoweth started to sing I believed she was singing then and there.

Also I need to know what it is you actually like about The Vampire Diaries.
I find everything about that show dull and I need to know from someone who enjoys it what it is they actually like about it.

    Keep up the good work.
    Love the show.

  4. It took a few episodes but I’m finally into Glee. I guess all I needed was a guest appearance from the lovely Ms. Chenoweth to get me hooked onto the show.
My one problem with the show is that the audience is meant to believe that Finn is meant to have potential to be a singer that can hold his own with rachael but Cory Monteith is a horrible singer and Lea Michele has a beautiful voice.
I’m having a hard time enjoying the musical numbers when Mr. Monteith has to sing because he is just dreadful. Also his bad dancing. It was cute for the first episode, now it’s just annoying.
It also bugs me that in the first episode rachael said that none of the guys were good enough to sing with her but Kevin Mchale has a great voice. I would much rather have him singing the lead vocals instead of Monteith.

After all that bitching, all I wanted to know was your thoughts on Cory Monteith as a singer and dancer. Also the fact that he’s 27 playing a teenager which drives me nuts.

  5. What are your thoughts on Community?

I’m really enjoying it, but Dr. Ken is really getting on my nerves. I found him funny in Knocked Up but since then he’s just been annoying.

  6. Just maybe by the time you get around to a new podcast, we will know who our S6 top 20 are on SYTYCD (separate podcast???please???)

Need to know your thoughts – I hope the harshness stays with the judges during the first rounds. The dancers need it I think to grow to be those fabulous dancers they can become! What’s the scoop on Mary leaving? Is she just too busy or did Uncle Nigel just ick her out for the last time?

Loving Supernatural and Glee. And Castle. Ho hum on some shows. Given up on a couple. Maybe on DVD later. I am going to DL all of Vampire Diaries (I think) with the coin star money I just got.

    Hope you are back soon!

  7. Hey guys,

Just wanted your thoughts on The Good Wife and The Vampire Diaries? When you did your Fall previews I know these were shows that you were excited about and wanted to know if you still enjoy them? I can honestly say that I’m slightly obsessively addicted to The Vampire Diaries and think that it has gotten better with each episode and that the actors are making each character their own. Stefan/Paul Wesley has become my newest TV boyfriend and wanted to know if you guys were Team Stefan or Damon? Have your opinions changed about Ian Somerhalder as Damon?

Thanks and look forward to the new podcast.

  8. Geez guys, get back to casting, I really miss you!

My favorite new show this season is Glee, so my question for you guys is: Do y’all want to fuck Puck as much as I do?

  9. Hi Ducky and GMMR,

Im brand new to finding you, came across you when I was looking for song list for SYTYCD.

I laughed my heart out at the podcasts you both did for season 4? for the dance show.

I cant seem to find any other podcasts.

Did you stop watching and podding?
    And why?

Cos it’ll make me cry, your doanloading on the show was spot on and made an extra dimension in watching it.

    Thanks a bunch!

  11. Greek is a few months away from finishing season 3. If we go by the fact that a Rusty’s first year at college took up 1 and a half season’s to tell, I would guess that his second year will end at the end of season 3.

Casy, Cappie and Evan are in their final year at college and that would mean at the end of the season they will be graduating. Well at least Evan and Casey will graduate.

My question is how do you think the show will keep these characters around? How do you think the show would do without these characters? Would you want to watch the show without these characters?
