TV Talk Podcast with GMMR and Ducky: 1/3/10
January 3, 2010 – 7:57 pm
Remember all those shows we totally forgot to talk about during that last few podcasts? Well, it’s about time we got to them don’t you think? Don’t worry though, we’ve added in a few more recent episodes to talk about as well.
First up is the Season 3 finale of MAD MEN. We’re a couple months late but we just couldn’t ignore it any longer. Next is the recent Season 4 finale of DEXTER. Then we’re on to WHITE COLLAR, BETTER OFF TED, SCRUBS and UGLY BETTY.
You begged, you pleaded and you sent hate mail so we decided to spend some time with the hot boys of SUPERNATURAL. That’s right, the cramazing fall finale is discussed in great length and we may or may not have shed a tear or two for the fallen.
Talk about shedding tears, Ducky talks about DOCTOR WHO‘s send off for the brilliant David Tennant. (he’s still a little misty over it all)
Then we’re on to cable shows like JERSEY SHORE, REHAB, ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY and MAN VS FOOD before talking about a possible GLEE burnout.
Sit back, listen to our latest podcast and please help spread the word what we do. Leave comments on our iTunes page and here in this post.
Oh and one more thing, what TV goodies did you get for Hanukkah/Christmas?

Oh good Lord, I could NOT pull it together! Once again I am NOT laughing at anything related to 9/11. When I get the case of the giggles there’s just nothing I can do about it. Sorry, listeners.

Oh Dan, I’m with you about David Tennant, I was bawling my eyes out for 45 minutes over everything. It was just so perfect, I never expected what RTD would do and it couldn’t have been better. But now I’m so excited for the new season, and Matt Smith, and this Karen Gillian chick. Ah!
And since when is Better Off Ted on Fridays? Oh I hope they don’t cancel it…

Hilary, from the looks of things both Scrubs and Better off Ted are done. Seems ABC is rushing the episodes out just to get rid of them.
Sad about BoT, not so much Scrubs, which hasn’t been very good this season.

Kath, about Buffy, it’s back in syndication on Logo. Weeknights at 6 starting this week.
Dan, omg, loved DW! it was pretty perfect.

Dan, I loved you talking about Dexter. Dexter was awesome this season, now this may be a spoiler but I’ve heard that now that Dexter is by himself raising his son he may teach his son the family business of killing people! lol
Anyway great job Kath and Dan!!!

I knew exactly what show you meant as soon as you said “Douche City”–even though I have never seen it!

Loved Dexter this season too. What an ending. Just when it looked like Dexter had finally find a state of mind where he could put his dark passenger to rest, boom!, the carpet is pulled out from his feet. Eager to see which way Dexter goes next season.
The White Collar finale has me nervous because Dekay’s character was so stand up there must be something more going on.
Can’t wait for SuperNatural to start up again too. Hoping for more Lucifer screen time. Ain’t it a kick that Lucifer in SuperNatural is Jacob in Lost!
You two continue to rock the house! Look forward to the next installment.

Oh how I miss your podcasts! Loved the talk about Supernatural and can’t wait to see what happens when White Collar comes back.
Kath, how excited are you to get you DC Christmas present?
I am still working on finishing Alias. Not sure what I’ll be watching after that. Mad Men? Ally McBeal? Lost? So many to pick from!
FYI, another friend is hooked on Chuck. Also Castle. My friends are so easily manipulated!

Oh and Kath, don’t feel bad about blowing off new TV to watch old favorites. I do that too.
By Patty on Jan 4, 2010
Almost forget – for Christmas I received Lost Season 1 – 5 on BluRay. WooT!

When I saw that “The Vampire Diaries” wasn’t in the tags, I was a bit bummed.
I think I enjoy listening to you both gush about TVD more then the show.

Mentioning the 9/11 laughing fit, you have to re-watch S1E14 (Shock and Awe) of Arrested Development where Jason Bateman and Heather Graham can’t stop laughing at Michael’s dead wife

Shows I only watched with my Mom included “Touched by an Angel” and “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?”

Haha! I had to interrupt my listening to say, YES! I KNEW you were going to say Jesse Stone! That is the epitome of parent-TV-viewing!!
Also, my parents and I have watched Monk, but I got tired of it after a while. Yet my dad continues to ask (at least, until it finally ended) every week, “Did you watch Monk?” Oh, Dad.

LOVE your Supernatural comments! I really felt for Dean as well. Dean/Jo could have been such a good couple! When are these boys gonna have a proper love interest?! Come on Kripke! They need some lovin!
Ugh! SO JEALOUS! You get to see the 5 first episodes of Chuck?! I HATE YOU! ;p

Hey Guys! I have been so happy on my commute the last couple of days because I’ve been catching up on your podcasts going to and from work. I listened to the December one yesterday and caught the new one this morning (still listening on my headphones while I’m at work – you’re covering Douche City as I type). You guys are so awesomely hysterical together – love hearing you laughing! I was in the elevator when I heard you quoting my Supernatural recap and I started laughing and clapping (dork, I know). Yeah, there are a few people in my office building who will definitely be avoiding me in the future now.
I’m saving the Chuck podcast, but I’m sure I’ll be listening this week. I just had to say thanks for doing these – I love them!
For the record, I LOVE hearing you guys cover True Blood news – I just watched S1 and 2 in December and am now obsessed. Since we have to wait until summer for new eps, any coverage from you guys is awesome.
For Christmas, I didn’t GET any tv-related presents, but I bought myself all seasons of the Golden Girls and completed my set of Gilmore Girls during the sales after Christmas.

The show I only watch with my mom is America’s Funniest Home Videos. She loves that show. My dad loves the Food Network and the Weather Channel.
I’m really bummed about Better Off Ted and Scrubs’s impending cancellations. I started off watching Better Off Ted because it’s on when Scrubs is on, and now I’m watching Scrubs because it’s on when Better Off Ted’s on. I was ready to completely write off Scrubs because it hasn’t been that funny, but I enjoyed last night’s 2nd episode. ABC hasn’t been treating the show well this year, but I do still love that they renewed it last year so it could have a proper ending. The NBC “finale” was terrible.
I was loving the first few episodes of White Collar, but then I fell behind. I was going to catch up on Hulu, but they only have the last episode. I can’t wait for that and Psych to come back.
Kath I totally agree about the Archie love on Ugly Betty. I was so bummed when the baby wasn’t his and they broke up. Ugly Betty has been much better this season, but I keep forgetting to watch. Now that it’s moving to Wednesday, maybe I’ll remember.
