TV Talk Podcast with GMMR and Ducky: 1/18/10
January 18, 2010 – 9:38 pm
We survived another snow storm and another podcast! This week, the TV Talk Podcast gives you our thoughts on the winners and losers at this years GOLDEN GLOBES AWARDS.
DAMAGES Season 3 is hot on our heels and we briefly discuss the first two hours. Patty, Ellen and Tom are back for a killer season of manipluation and a sharp game of cat and mouse.
The most satisfying news from the winter TCA press tour revolves around the timeline for the next two seasons of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
PROJECT RUNWAY returns to New York City and the reunion feels so good! Heidi, Michael, Nina and Tim Gunn try to make it work with a new back of 16 designers. We’re already in love!
AMERICAN IDOL kicked off another season and Ducky may or may not be back on the bandwagon.
It wouldn’t be a TV podcast unless we talked about the Leno/Conan Late Night Debacle. What a shit-show…
Oh and did I mention we talk about AVATAR? Why not!
We end this week’s podcast with some fun and games! Get ready for a few rounds of “Would You Rather”: TV Edition.

You guys crack me up!
Would you rather?
1) Hands down the tranny Damon. I find lately that I am jonesing for the hot tranny mess men.
2)I would have to give up my favorite show and just cry rather then have to watch 2.5 Men.
3) Lost vs Survivor? Is Boone still alive? I think I would have to go with Survivor for a year because I would be skinny in the end.
4) Ryan Seacrest channel only because he’s not Billy Bush.
5) Ass beating = Zach if Bradley is out of the mix. If Bradley is in, I might have to think about it. Zach has really started to look good these past months. And Bradley keep taking his shirt off…
6) High School? Probably Glee because of @frankenteen. Although I get Kath’s process about Pacey liking older women.
7) Office/Mad Men? Probably the Office. Because I could be mean to people in the office and not get in trouble like I do now.
Great pod cast!

Ugh! How boring was the Golden Globes? I fast forwarded through most of it. I just need to accept the fact that I don’t have mainstream taste. Avatar? Seriously? Innovative yes but the best movie of the year? No.
You guys, the podcast was great as always.

Would you rather:
1) Spike. No question.
NBC pre-show. I can handle an hour. Billy Bush is crazy but it’s only an hour. Well…if I watch the 24-hour E! I get more star footage. Guh. Okay. E! I guess.
2) Add 3 shows. I NEED my faves. And there’s no way I’m giving up Glee.
3)Ooh. I can’t do that one.
4) Deep End. At least there’s a story. Unless you’re right and Seacrest has guests.
5)SYDNEY BRISTOW!!!! She’d kill me quickly and be done with it.
6) GLEE!!!! Except…I can’t sing so I’d feel left out. So…maybe Saved By The Bell. On the other hand, I could take Spanish with Mr Shue. Okay, Glee.
7) I don’t watch Mad Men but Michael Scott would drive me bonkers. Except…ooh, 60’s misogyny. Guh. Can’t choose.

Ha! Oops. That was meant to be an 8.

Take heart even your supposed bad shows are still golden.
Could it be that you both felt this way because you were not delving into show specific items?
Still loved it!
Keep on trucking!

An entertaining podcast, and a lot of TV food for thought. I’m glad that you touched on the Jay Leno/Conan O’Brien late night wars. The powers that be at NBC have outdone themselves in dumb business moves, and it is going to cost them big time. Certainly it makes their brand seem all the more avoidable.
The Golden Globes are always more fun when you have a movie or a TV show to root for. This year, I was on the lookout for Zachary Levi, and feeling like the over 50 fangirl that I am.
Otherwise, the “who are you wearing” can get tedious, and some of the strange tastes in formal gowns are giggle-inducing.

Enjoyed the podcast this week. Can’t wait for the next one.
Was curious if you could give your thoughts on the celebs you like on twotter and the ones that you would like to go away.
At the moment Kevin Smith is annoying me and Adam Baldwin is getting me really angry with some of the stuff he tweets.
Would like to know your thoughts on the matter.

Actually your thoughts on celebrities on Twitter not Twotter. My mistake.

Ah I’m so happy that you guys have been podcasting so much! I always love your podcasts no matter what you talk about.
Thanks for touching on the Golden Globes. I never have enough patience to watch Award Shows so it was nice to get the highlights with commentary by you guys.
Also, I appreciated the discussion on Leno and Conan. I’m in Italy this year so I’m kind of removed from stuff like that. Your take on it was really helpful to sort out all the media bull. I watched the video of Jimmy Kimmel on Leno. Hilarious. I love Jimmy Kimmel.
Oh the talk about Project Runway was great too! Looks like it’s shaping up to be a nice season. Love that show.
And the games are always fun! I always crack up and everyone at the gym looks at me funny lol.
Keep them coming guys! I just like to hear you guys discuss anything. You should get paid to do this! You two have amazing host chemistry! Even better than Cate and Ryan on Life Unexpected. BTW I started watching that because of you guys and I just might add it to my schedule. Still have to watch the second episode but you guys said it was amazing so I have high hopes.
