  2. First off – Sausage!

Great stuff as usual you two!

Chuck Vs The Mask – my thoughts are here:

SuperNatural – that was the most gross episode ever. The opening scene with the two lovers was bad but the short order cook dipping his hands in the fries cooking in grease and Cas eating raw hamburger! Shudder.

Finally getting back to the Apocalypse! Yay! Too bad the fifth season is almost over.

Still bummed how little of those episodes there have been this season.

  3. Do you think VD (which makes me giggle) is the heir of Buffy?

There is so written about VD being a Twilight rip-off and it certainly is trying to scoop up Twilight fans, but I feel there are a lot older folks (well not that old) who were big into Buffy for its pretty people in a made-up town dealing with teenybopper angst as well as monsters? There have been nowhere for those people to go until now with VD?

  4. Loved the podcast! I don’t watch Survivor or The Amazing Race, but you two have me seriously contemplating watching both of them.

I loved this weeks episode of Supernatural. It was SUPER gross!!! I’m with you, Ducky. Sam with blood all over his mouth does it for me, too (what does that say about us?) even though I’ll always be a Dean girl. Cas chowing down on hamburgers was hilarious as well!
I was heartbroken by both the scene with Famine in the diner where he told Dean that his soul was empty and the scene at the end with Dean pleading and praying for help…I was bawling!!!!
Agreed with all your Office comments…but was kinda annoyed that they haven’t gotten Andy and Erin together yet. I know that they are eventually going to go on a date, but I want it to happen now! The fact that they are both waiting for the other to make a move is crazy.
Love the Podcast, could go on forever, but I really should be working right now! ;)
Happy Belated B-day, Ducky- Hope your Cheesecake Rocked!!!

By Amanda on Feb 19, 2010

  5. Kathy- You MUST start watching RuPaul’s Drag Race IMMEDIATELY. I find it to be the most entertaining and hilarious show on TV right now, scripted or non-scripted. It has surpassed Modern Family for most number of laugh-out-loud moments. The online companion series “Untucked” is just as great.

Loved hearing all of your comments! It always makes my work day go by faster. Are either of you watching ABDC this season? I can’t seem to get into it this year.

By Jenna on Feb 19, 2010

  6. I am right there with Jenna! RuPaul’s Drag Race is a must!

By Patty on Feb 19, 2010

  7. I’ll most definitely check it out. I may heard of it in passing, but I certainly didn’t know much about it. I love me some Ru, so I’ll def see if I can catch up this weekend.

By Kath on Feb 19, 2010

  8. Just left you a comment on iTunes but I thought I’d leave one here as well.

Dan and Kath, I couldn’t agree with you more about the Chuck-tastrophy. Don’t want to harp on it but, I’m so frustrated with the lack of faith in Fedak and Schwartz shown by the Chuck fanbase. Those guys know where they’re going and we should all just trust in the awesomeness of Schwedak.

Haven’t started watching Vampire Diaries yet so I skipped over that portion of the podcast to avoid spoilers, but I need to start soon because I bought Paley tickets to the VD panel as a surprise for my roommate. Saw the pilot at Comic-Con and didn’t love it, but my roommate insists it gets better so I’ll have to catch up before the panel.

Kath, I’m pretty much in the same boat as you are with Survivor. I’ve watched one or two more seasons than you, but I’m pretty much only tuning in this season for Boston Rob. If there is another Amazing Race: All-Stars situation with Rob (losing after dominating early on) than I’m gonna be pissed.

Love the podcast, so now I’m gonna go catch up on Two Idiots Talk LOST!

By Sarah on Feb 19, 2010

  9. I agree with almost everything you said about Supernatural…except I kind of liked the gore! But I am really excited about it geting renewed for the sixth season, even though it kind of meands that the Apocalypse is going to be averted somehow.

By Casey on Feb 19, 2010

  10. Ok, quick observations:

-Erin is the cutest thing in the Office, she’s my fave character right now.
-AI is so fun with Ellen, great talent too!
-Katherine is the best HBIC of television.
-The Winchesters break my heart, great back to back episodes(DUCKY!? THE OLYMPICS OVER THE WINCHESTERS?!! GET HELP!!)
    -You guys rock.

Shows i’d like you to talk about in the future: Keeping up with the Kardashians and SPARTACUS.

By Karla on Feb 19, 2010

  11. Love the new podcast!

One thing I have to comment on is your brief comments on Private Practice. For a while I loved this show…but i completely agree that they are killing addison. I can’t believe that she is going after Sam (Taye Diggs). They have no chemistry and honestly the pairing just gives me the creeps. Are there no other men she could be with? And now this whole thing with Pete? It just turns me off the show altogether.

Also – loved the office this week. I hope they keep Kathy Bates on for awhile as I think she and Steve Carrell played really well off each other. It was a convenient way to bring the old Jim back. Loved it!

THanks for the extra long podcast!!! :) :) :)

By Michelle on Feb 19, 2010

  12. I’d have faith in Schwartz if he wasn’t following the same romance angle as he did on the OC.

Get them together, angst, new love interest, break-up. Rinse and Repeat for three straight seasons. Keeping them apart is fine but come up with something different.

By Josh on Feb 19, 2010

  13. I completely agree about the Chuck fanbase right now. Like boycotting the show will really do anything except get it cancelled. There is more to love about Chuck than the relationship between Chuck and Sarah!

As far as Supernatural goes: This last episode was by far my favorite of the season. There were hilarious moments as well as heartbreaking ones. And I think Famine was wrong about Dean’s soul. I think the ending of that episode proved that he definitely has one, and that he definitely feels something – he just is very good at repressing his emotions.

I don’t watch Survivor, but I kind of want to after listening to you guys talk about it!

Overall it was a great podcast! I actually really like the long ones, so keep ‘em coming!

By Tessa on Feb 20, 2010

  14. Love the podcast. This is actually the first time I’ve ever listened to you guys and I’m actually gonna go listen to all your old ones now.

I totally agree that Vampire Diaries does get better week after week. I’ve never been so excited about a tv show in my life.

Supernatural was pretty gory this week so I didnt really like it as much.

Survivor… Boston Rob is awesome. I can’t stand James or Russell. And Tom whining about his broken toe was so lame. It’s just a toe. Stephanie dislocated her shoulder!

By Ana on Feb 20, 2010

  15. OMG Survivor is SO entertaining right now! I can’t stop laughing and i’m so into it! James was a douche to Steph and now I kind of hate him. He yells “Shut up” at her as she’s being voted out! Ugh

Also, correction: Amanda didn’t win her season, she’s the one who made it to the end both times but didn’t win either. There’s a running joke that she sucks at Tribal Council because of it. And I think you guys are confusing All Stars with Fans vs Favourites. Amber won All Stars. Parvati won F vs F. Candice was in Parvati’s and Ozzy’s season, she was the one who had a Showmance, I loved her then, I love her now!

By Trish on Feb 20, 2010

  16. Trish –
Ha ha! You are SO right, we are confusing the two seasons. I think I watched Fans vs. Favorites, and not All Stars. Two Idiots Talking Survivor!

    I too am loving it!

By Kath on Feb 20, 2010

  17. Shit Febrains (or whatever it’s spelled) will never not be funny! XD

    By funny_face on Feb 20, 2010

  18. Thanks for getting me through a couple of crappy hours at work this Saturday morning. I am still not done with work and the podcast is over but that 2 hours sure went by fast!

Vampire Diaries – I was NOT excited about this show. I didn’t like the pilot at all and didn’t watch after that…until you guys talked the crap out of it on the podcast before Christmas and well, I caught up and now it’s my 2nd favorite show after Supernatural! I so look forward to Hot Angsty Brother Thursdays now.

Supernatural continues to break my heart. I am a little excited to see where the show goes with Sera as showrunner because I love her.

Thanks so much for the indepth talk about my two favorite shows!

By Patty on Feb 20, 2010

  19. What happened to Damages this week? Seeing Ellan and Patty having drinks in her apartment was weird. The return of Patty’s son, Michael and Patty’s reaction to *****’s death.

By JasTay on Feb 20, 2010

  20. chuck and sarah – each of the WTWT couples on tv have a quality on how they impact the show together or apart, for the show chuck, when not together, the other subplots lose their magic, there is no reason for sarah to be at buymore or at ellie’s and the show sort of unravels – some shows can keep the 2 lead characters on the screen together, even when split as a couple (friends for example), the way chuck was written, they cannot

By jason on Feb 21, 2010

  21. @jason Sarah really hasn’t been at the BuyMore much this season or at Ellie’s now that they’ve moved out and the season has been fine until “vs. the Mask”.

By JasTay on Feb 21, 2010

  22. Thank you as always guys for a fantastic podcast!

like others, half considering watching amazing race and survivor just so i can understand what you guys are talking about! (and on the hunt already for a way that I can watch Ru Paul’s drag race here in the uk!!)

You guys make me laugh so much, and I’m so glad you make the podcast – you guys never fail to make me smile.

By laiq on Feb 21, 2010

  23. Loved the podcast. I could not agree more about Kathrine Heigel being gone making Grey’s better.

I love that you all recap Greek. As a recent grad and former fraternity member, what makes that show great to me is how they capture dynamics of Greek life for those of us who took it way to seriously. It seems overly dramatic, but that’s Greek life. A bunch of college kids who take the problems of the moment way to seriously because you can’t see how trivial it really is.

    Keep up the good work.

By MattDC on Feb 21, 2010

  24. Totally agree with both your comments on “Chuck vs. The Mask” … I totally LOLed at what Dan said about being kind of embarrassed to watch that episode with his bf … I HATE when that happens! It totally happened to me with an episode of Community a couple months ago when I showed it to several newbies and it was a crappy episode hahaha. That is the worst.

I didn’t hate “Chuck vs. The Mask”, BUT I definitely agree with everyone’s criticisms – Forced love story betw Sarah and Shaw, WAY too cheesy in the last 15 mins, bad editing, bad special effects, etc etc. And if I were to introduce someone to Chuck for the first time, I would definitely not want that to be the first ep they watch. ;-) But I also agree with you guys that for the fan base to have flipped their lid as much as they have is ludicrous. Not every ep of Chuck is a winner … I can think of several other “meh” eps from the first two seasons. And the fact that this wound up being the “cliffhanger” episode before the Olympics was just bad luck/timing too. Uggh.

Anywho this is the first time I’ve listened to your podcast (and I must admit I only listed up through the Chuck part), but it was entertaining, and thanks for making me laugh. :)

    By R on Feb 21, 2010

  25. Awesome podcast, as usual. I love so many things about it, but here are just a few:

    a) That it goes up (published) so quickly. The immediacy of listening to you talk about episodes that just aired is part of the fun of listening to a TV-related podcast. Kind of loses its relevancy when two or more episodes of a show have aired before the podcast is released.

    b) The chapter markers. Even though I listen to the whole podcast, I like that it’s broken up into topics/shows and there are pictures that go along with them (e.g. a picture of Kate Walsh when discussion Private Practice.

    c) the TV talk is so good that I listen to the sections on shows I don’t even watch like American Idol and Supernatural.

Keep up the great work guys. When there is a new podcast to listen to, it helps give that little extra push to get out and get running that morning, which is huge!

By Valerie on Feb 21, 2010

  26. Sorry this took so long but I did want to leave a comment. You two never cease to crack my shit up and it’s usually while I’m at work trying to be productive! The Fiona Faraday stuff had me laughing so hard at my desk people were looking at me thinking I was on something. They already think I’m a nut job so this definitely doesnt help my case but thanks for keeping me laughing my ass off! You really need your own cable show.

By Tiffany on Feb 22, 2010

  27. There will be a 10 episode 4th season of Greek.

By JasTay on Feb 22, 2010

  28. R welcome to our disfunctional little family! Hopefully next time you’ll stick around for more than just the Chuck talk

By Ducky on Feb 22, 2010

  29. I always listen to the podcast!! Love it.

    A few thoughts:
I’m not quite as down on Private Practice but here’s my take on the Addison issue. I’m not all that bothered by a Sam/Addison relationship. Yeah yeah that was Naomi’s husband but whatever. If that’s true love, then step away. (Plus Naomi is acting so abysmally, it’s painful.) What bothers me is how dragged out it is: either go for it or not. I can’t handle all of this angsting. They’re nearing or are in their 40s, pull it together. Even worse, Addison and Pete are just ridiculous.

Survivor: Courtney was on the China season along with James and Amanda. I’m not sure why she’s being named as a villain. Actually she was incredibly rude to one of the contestants in a way that wasn’t called for. But she is dangerous, competition wise. She made it to the final of her season, with Amanda and the eventual winner Todd, and was the runner-up. So she may be thin but she will not go quietly.

By Chris on Feb 23, 2010

  30. As usual, you two crack me up! I don’t even watch half the shows you talk about (AI, Survivor, AR, Grey’s), but your ridiculousness keeps me glued to my ipod.
I was on the treadmill and I had to stop it because I was laughing so hard when you two were talking about “Fiona Faraday”.

I hadn’t though too hard about the Chuck stuff, but I have to agree with you too that people just need to get over themselves.

Supernatural, definitely one of the most disgusting episodes in a while, if not the most disgusting one. I’ve never had to turn away while watching an episode before and I did for “My Bloody Valentine”.

    I love Vampire Diaries!

By Melissa on Feb 23, 2010

  31. I gotta say, i love this super-sized tv talk podcast! Your podcast is the one I listen to whenever it downloads to my itunes. I really enjoyed this episode and gotta share a few thoughts.
How amazing has survivor been this season? I have seen the most recent survivor seasons so I don’t know jerri or tom or colby but I kind of have an idea of what they are based on how their reputation precedes them. I love how russell is starting to truly be a villain in last night’s episode by hiding the machete, genius!
Greek has been good and steady this season and I’m loving Cappy and Casey and also thought it was kind of interesting how they paired up Rusty and Katherine, i’m interested to see where that goes.
Vampire diaries has been amazing and i’m sad that we have to wait for new episodes.
In the next podcast which hopefully comes out soon you guys should talk about the return of gossip girl (i think Kath still watches it?) and also keep commenting about Amazing Race because there are some great teams on this season.
Well that’s all for now, thanks for the podcast and keep up the good work!

    By happybunny87 on Feb 26, 2010

  32. Thank you so much for a fantastic podcast!! I love that it is so long. I also have to say thank you for the chapter markers, it is so fantastic to be able to skip over things I have not seen yet. Thanks to your project Supernatural and all your talk about the show I have become obsessed with catching up, I felt like Netflix just wasn’t delivering the disks fast enough so I went out and bought the 2nd and 3rd seasons so I could catch up faster, I can’t wait to go back and listen to your thoughts.
I wasn’t sure if there was a different place to comment on LOST but I will here anyways. I am one of those Losties you guys laughed at and said were a little crazy. No worries I was not offended, in fact I met one of your friends on the beach in Hawaii during the premiere and called her by her twitter name because Dan had been tweeting she was there, it was fantastic. I love listening to your Fiona Faraday chat and fantastic ability to laugh at the fact you may be getting some things wrong, while there are moments where I almost shout out on the T the correct answer to what you might be talking about, it is refreshing to hear a different kind of fans POV. I hear a lot of serious theory talk and hearing what others think is a nice change sometimes.

Thanks again for the podcast (both of them) looking forward to the next one!

By Katie on Feb 28, 2010

  33. Ok you guys,
I understand you have stuff to do (work, family, blah, blah, blah) but..enough already! I need to hear my daily dose of podcast. I really enjoy hearing you guys share your take on Lost, and the other shows. (there are other shows on now, right?) Please post a podcast. I really, really, really need one.
