  2. Seriously, you guys? You think you could pull together a pie more easily than an entree? So so SO wrong. I mean, I’m a hardcore cookie and quick bread baker, enough that I’ve improvised a couple of recipes here and there, but no way in HELL could I pull off a pie in a strange pantry. Nevermind the filling – dealing with making pie-dough from scratch would stop me in my tracks. That’s like advanced fucking chemistry – and it’s why I liked that challenge, because between all the chefs, every single possible screwup was well illustrated. I loved the guy who sidestepped with the crumble move, that’s a smart dude.

Sorry didn’t mean to rant – I guess I was surprised that you wouldn’t respect the PIE, people – given your Pushing Daisies love ;-)

  3. But that’s just it, ClioBC, the guy knew he could sidestep it with a crumble. Even easier, a crisp…no bottom needed at all. But if they couldn’t have cheated that much, I’m sure somebody could have made a graham cracker crust.

I get that pastry is a different set of skills but they were not being asked to do complicated sugar work or chocolate work. They weren’t even being asked to bake a cake. Surely these people know how to make pasta so a pie dough can’t be that vastly different and pie filling is not that difficult to throw together for chefs of this caliber.

So I’m with that Johnny guy: my grandmother knows how to bake a pie.

Kath and Dan, since your last summer tv podcast, I’ve caught up on real housewives and I’m with you. Danielle is certifiable to the point where it’s not even funny. Can’t wait until next Monday!

  4. I ADORE PLL! I’ve never been this addicted to GG. I love all the girls and i’m so intrigued with the mystery and A’s identity. Does A stand for Ali or for Annonimous? And JENNA! She has to know a lot!

Maybe I should catch Party Down, if it’s that good. I do love Adam Scott.

  6. Are you guys planning on discussing the emmy nominations who your fav to win like you have done in the past? That would be great because there are finally some good nominations for deserving actors. Did you guys ever talk about the Glee finale or did I miss that? Finally, Kath how is rewatching Alias going? I just finished watching the entire series and I forgot how great the show and the cast was, and how obsessed I used to be with this show. And how hot Michael Vartan is, sigh….
Fun game question: What restaurant would you like to work in: Pie Hole, Luke’s Diner or the cafe in Dawson’s Creek (I’m blanking on the name)

    Thanks

  7. Wanna watch Pretty Little Liars on a nice video stream?
    Hey guys, Hulu.com
Almost all the ABC shows are on there, which means we can forgive them for not working on their own site. Now if only CBS would do the same.
