  2. Firstly, WOW!! 4 years guys. It’s amazing and I’ve love listening to you guys over the years. While I don’t think I’ve listened since episode one, I think I was certainly a fan of the podcast by the 3rd / 4th episode of the podcast. (So sadly, I don’t think I get to enter the “Ryan” contest after all!)

I remember reading on your blogs about the VM blogger set visit years ago, and knowing you guys from about then – so certainly been around for a while.

You guys have certainly turned me onto so many shows, and it’s your recommendations that have given me so many hours of viewing enjoyment. SYTYCD is the first show that comes to mind, I didn’t want to miss out on any extra podcasts, and so jumped into the series in season 4 – and haven’t looked back. I’m such a huge fan of the show – and I can honestly say it’s down to you guys.

I remember all the pushing daisies / fun too – and your excitement for the show fuelled mine. And there have been many shows like that since (SPN, TVD, Mad men, FNL – all shows that I probably started watching in part because of you guys.)

I’ve not found another podcast that I enjoy listening to as much as I enjoy listening to you two, and honestly I want to thank you guys for that.

Some reassurances for Dan too – the BH finale is amazing. Hurry up and watch it! And they’ve only just cast / started filming skins season 5 here, so your ok for a bit.

    Anyway, onto this podcast –

And after all the lavish praise I’ve just given you guys. I watched the pilot of Lonestar, and was kinda bored. sorry. Not shocked or sad to hear it’s already canceled.

Chuck, really enjoying this season. Good to be a be lighter again after the dark turn that was the season 3 opening.

HIMYM – I’m really hoping that especially episode 2 is a sign of things to come. And you’re right. I don’t care about the Mother at all at this point. I only really care about Barney / Robin.

Glee – Heather Morris is awesome, and after all the worry of over using her, they didn’t – I just hope they let her fade back into the background now. But this isn’t a serious show at all, it’s pure fluff and entertainment – so plot holes are to be glossed over!!

Parenthood – Sad to see that you guys aren’t as in love with the show as I am. I’m still really enjoying it, and I really like Crosby. I feel he really is making huge progress as a character. I also really enjoy the family dynamic.

LUX – Meh. I’m still watching, but I just don’t CARE any more.

Castle – Very much a “dip in and out of” (TWSS) type of show, but still enjoyable.

Big Bang Theory – LOVE IT!!!! Fantastic return.

Mad Men – couldn’t agree more with your comments. This season has been so “on” it’s been fantastic.

Raising Hope – thanks for the recommendation, I probably wouldn’t have started watching it, but certainly for now it’s enjoyable.

TVD – Brilliant. Really enjoying the dynamics going on here too.

SoA – I know you guys don’t watch, but this is a show that moves me to tears on an episodic basis. Katey Segal is one of the best actresses on TV, hands down. This is gruelsome at times, but honestly is some of the best quality TV to be found right now. (Possibly even topping FNL for me)

SPN – I couldn’t make up my mind wether I enjoyed this episode or not, but I couldn’t tell you why I didn’t like it. It just felt slightly skewed. (And I’m not one of these fangirls that worries about show runners changing a show)

Anyway, I’m actually kind of ill – and I might start with some delusional ramblings in a minute (“Is this real life”) – but you two are the best at what you do, whether you believe it or not. This might not be a “professional” level podcast – but thats not why I listen, I’m hear because it feels like I’m sitting down and talking with friends, and for that you guys are awesome.

Thank You for the last 4 years….

  3. You guys picked the perfect day to put your super-sized podcast up on iTunes, because it is raining here all day- and I am stuck in doors! =O Thanks in advance! =D

  4. Ducky – I´m so sad to hear that you are dropping Parenthood. I beg you, give this show one more chance. I agree that the first two episodes of the 2nd season were quite frenzy but the episode from this week was the old Parenthood. It was so tender and full of heart. Please, try to see it. I think this third episode was one of the best. And no scene between Lauren and Peter if their relationship bothers you so much. I don´t get why, though. I don´t have problem to distinguish between a tv show and real life. I think you are looking for the signs yourself. I couldn´t be happier for the actors.
So please, give it one more chance, the show needs you!

  5. Here are my thoughts:

House- I agree about Cuddy, everybody always praised her character so I felt like I should like her, but I’m not feeling it.

HIMYM- This weeks was SO good, I love Barney.

Chuck- I love it, the new spy dynamic between Morgan and Chuck is fantastic.

Gossip Girl- I was ready to give it up, but I’ve been digging it this season.

Castle- I love Castle and Nathan Fillion.

The Event- I’m not amazed by it, but I’ll keep watching.

No Ordinary Family- I just watched the pilot, and I enjoyed it enough that I’ll watch next week.

Glee- I loved the Britney episode, it might have been my favorite episode so far, it was hilarious this week.

Raising Hope- It’s really cute and funny, I really like it.

Life Unexpected- I agree with what you said, I just didn’t really want to admit it because I loved it last season. It’s sad to say it probably won’t make it that much longer.

The Good Wife- I’ve seen a few episodes last season, so I’m going to try to get into it this season.

Parenthood- I still love it, and the Lauren Graham/Peter Krause thing doesn’t bother me.

The Middle- I started watching it mostly because of Dan’s recommendation and it’s really funny.

Better With You- Really bad. That’s it.

    Modern Family/Cougar Town- Love them.

The Whole Truth- The dialogue was really bad to me.

Big Bang Theory- Great as always.

Community- It might be my favorite show on TV, every week tops the previous episode.

    30 Rock- Always good.

Vampire Diaries- LOVE IT, so good, probably my second favorite show.

    Grey’s- Great season opener.

Fringe- It’s a fantastic show, it has replaced Lost for me.

Nikita- It’s pretty strong, and I really like it.

The Office- Good season premiere, I can’t wait for tonight’s episode with Toby and Micheal goodness.
Private Practice- I hate about 70% of the characters on this show, but I keep watching.

Supernatural- I finally caught up over the summer, so for the first time I could listen to the Supernatural instead of skipping over it. Just so you know, it’s because of you guys that I started watching.

Blue Bloods- It was an OK pilot, I’ll watch tomorrows.

Brothers and Sisters- It’s gotten really bad, but I keep watching.

Thanks for doing this podcast because I’m home sick, so I had plenty of time to listen to it.

I have been listening for about three years, and two years ago I went back to listen to your old podcasts. I love your podcasts, they always make me laugh and it’s a great distraction for on the bus to school. My favorite moment is definitely hands-down Fiona Faraday. You can’t beat that.

By Alison on Sep 30, 2010

  6. I haven’t been listening for all four years, sadly. I started listening to your SYTYCD podcasts during Season 4, though at one point I went back and listened to all of the earlier ones b/c I was unemployed (but I have a job now, so I can’t put together your “greatest hits”).

The only new show I’m watching is The Event, because it’s the only one that looked interesting to me. I know lots of critics loved Lonestar, but it looked boring to me. I saw loads of commercials during SYTYCD, but the only conman I need is Neal Caffrey! Anyway, I gave up Gossip Girl to watch The Event, and I’m happy with the trade. I love Jason Ritter b/c of Joan of Arcadia. I agree that NBC has a bad track record, so we’ll see.

I agree with Kath that LUX has gotten terrible, but I will keep watching until it’s canceled (which I know it will be). If it ends with a cliffhanger I will be really pissed that I invested all this time and don’t get any closure.

I loved the Britney episode of Glee! Britney came out when I was about 13. I was never a big fan of hers, but I LOVED all the boybands, so I know of all her songs and videos since they were on the radio/TRL/VMAs at the same time. Madonna was too old for me and Gaga too recent, this hit right in the middle and I loved it. I will say that Glee doesn’t seem to be picking up at all. The characters are so inconsistent with weird plots and no continuity. I’ve really given up on it as an actual show and just watch for the musical numbers. Also, I really don’t like Kurt’s dad and now he’s a series regular.

I taped The Good Wife, but haven’t watched it yet. I’m going to start watching it this year on your recommendation.

I also started watching Modern Family this season since you and others have been raving about it from the beginning. I’m loving it so far. It’s replacing Better Off Ted as my half hour sitcom since BoT was canceled.

I’m loving Project Runway this season! Mondo is my favorite too, though I hated Ivy more than Gretchen. The best part has been Tim Gunn’s facebook blogs about the “crack smoking judges” I’m bummed that he took the last one down and hasn’t made any more. I like April too, and I thought Kristen Bell was a bad judge. Oh well.

I was going to watch Blue Bloods, but I forgot it was premiering. Hopefully I’ll remember this week. My mom wants to watch it because she loves Tom Selleck.

TAR is great. The watermelon was awesome, but not as great as the giant cheese wheels from a few seasons ago. I love TAR even during its crappier seasons. You and Kath should audition together. You would be a hysterical team! I already don’t like the guy who was bragging about Notre Dame and putting down his cosmetologist gf. Notre Dame is a good school, but it’s not like he went to Harvard or was a Rhodes Scholar!

By Dawn on Sep 30, 2010

  7. I would so watch TAR if Kath and Dan were on it!!

By Laiq on Sep 30, 2010

  8. Oh man. I fucking love you guys.

I’m excited that Kath has started watching Community this season. I didn’t like the Pilot either (not a big Chevy fan), but it got progressively better every week and I grew to LOVE it. I bought the DVD and spent 2 days straight listening to the commentaries on every episode. I’m pretty sure I love it even more now. The cast is amazing.

I’m trying out Raising Hope, per your recommendations. So far so good, but I haven’t had a chance to watch last night’s episode yet. I’m sad to hear about the dumping of Parenthood because I made a point to catch up on season 1 last weekend so I could join in on season 2. The bickering and simultaneous yelling by the characters did annoy me in the later episodes of the first season and I was hoping they moved on from that. I’m hearing otherwise, which is disappointing. I may decide after watching the S2 premiere whether to keep DVRing it or not.

I was abnormally excited for my favorite serial killer to return. The Dexter premiere didn’t disappoint me at all. I knew that this episode was going to be necessary for the character of Dexter, and for the audience to get closure on Rita. I did not expect to be so affected by the funeral scene though.

I’m happy Supernatural is back. I didn’t hate the episode like many fans did and I understand and appreciate that Dean did not leave Lisa and Ben to be with strange Sam and his new “family”. I am very wary of how this Sam and the Dead!Grandpa just magically raising from hell/brought down from heaven. How did Dead!Grandpa even get to heaven? I thought he sold his soul (or whatever) to Yellow Eyes? Whatever happened, I don’t trust him one bit.

I haven’t been a listener from the beginning, but I did go back and listen to all the episodes. That counts right? It was fun listening to podcasts of outdated shows and news. Interesting to see how opinions change and new shows become favorites.

(“Is he Paul Wesley skinny?”) Yes! Someone needs to shove a cheeseburger into his pretty mouth.

By hockeybychoice on Sep 30, 2010

  9. I completely forgot to mention that I didn’t love the Britney episode of Glee. Maybe it’s because I’m not a Brit fan? I did enjoy the Brittany stupidity and HeMo did an amazing job with the musical numbers. I definitely didn’t think it was the greatest hour of Glee ever though.

LOVE Fringe and agree with Dan about Anna Torv. I’m intrigued with how the odd/even episodes in each universe is going to play out.

Another show that I’m loving is The Glades. I know you guys will never discuss/watch it, but it’s been the biggest surprise for me this past year. The season finale is this weekend and I can honestly say that I’ve enjoyed it. Matt Passmore is lovely, and Australian, which tickles me. I’m watching Hawaii 5-0 for that very reason. Mmm Alex O’Loughlin.

p.s. Tell Korbi to bring cheeseburgers and milkshakes to the TVD set. Paul Wesley needs to be fed.

  10. You’re Welcome!!/ErnestoRiley/status/25364942874

By Ducky on Sep 30, 2010

  11. Another great episode!! I was dissapointed that you guys didn’t like some of the new shows. I’ve found a few new shows I like so far. I like Terriers the best but Hawaii-50 and Detriot 1-8-7 are also pretty good. The Defenders is a guilty pleasure for me. I know it’s not good but I love it plus I used to live in Vegas so I always at watch at least the first episode of series set in Vegas.

I’ve been listening since the beginning and my favorite part was always “two idiots talk Lost!”. My favorite part was the whole Fiona Farraday thing! I was working in the yard at the time, listening to you guys and I just burst out laughing right there! You guys were so sure it was Fiona and went on with the conversation! My neighbor came over asking me what I was laughing about. All I could say was Fiona Farraday!! It lives on in infamany!

You guys also got me to watch Supernatural, I was worried about it being to scary for me but Kath kept saying she was going to try to watch it. So I decided to try it also and now it’s one of my favorite shows.

By denise on Oct 1, 2010

  12. It was perfect timing for this show to come out. I’ve spent 10 of the past 24 hours in a car going to and from a funeral and this show really helped me get throught the horrible car trip.

The Summer weather just started to show itself the past few days and being stuck in the car for such a long ammount of time sucked, so I thank you two for making it more bearable.

Now I know people say this all the time about shows, but when it comes to Sons of Anarchy, the second season is a must watch. I agree with Ducky that the first season of the show was decent, but not spectacular. In the second season however, the show really found it’s feet and became one of the best shows on TV. I highly recommend you guys give it another look.

When it comes to Glee, all the problems you guys pointed out are the same problems I have with the show, but unlike you two I can’t look past those problems and find the things to love about the show. That will Schuester is an awful character and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to watch Matthew morrison in anything outside of this show without hating his guts.

Out of the new shows this season Nikita and Raising Hope are the two that I’ll be watching every week.

Once again, great show and look forward to future episodes.

By shanemd on Oct 1, 2010

  13. If you drop Parenthood, I drop you. It’s by far and away my favorite show. I’m really disagree with what you had to say about it – it deserves way more credit than that.

By Corrina on Oct 2, 2010

  14. So I haven’t finished listening to ALL of it yet, I’m savoring it, but I have skipped through to all the shows I actually watch :] Love the chapter markers.

Agreed that I’m not picking up much this year. I am one of those people who waits until about halfway through the first season before I give a new show a chance… But luckily you guys give me pretty good advice on what to catch up with.

How I Met Your Mother was perfection in the second episode! Stand By Me was genius! I agree, the first episode was kind of blah, but Dan, you can’t give up!

Glee was fun as usual, but wildly uneven, as usual. I enjoyed the Britney episode because that was my youth! But the whole dentist premise was totally weird. John Stamos though! Yes please! Love how he enjoys switching up Emma’s schedule. And how is Will such a douche now? He was so cute in the first half of the first season. They’re doing something wrong with his character for sure.

On Wednesday I only watch Modern Family. So good though! Loved this week’s episode with the ghost of Gloria’s mother and all. And the storyline with Alex’s “boyfriend” was sooo sweet. I think it’s the comedy I most look forward to watching every week.
I tried Cougar Town right after the first episode of Modern Family, but I wasn’t too into the format. Guess I didn’t know the characters well enough to listen to their witty banter. But the movie mashup was fun. I enjoyed that it became a twitter game lol.

Ah the Big Bang Theory was so solid coming back. That was a hilarious premier. Although my 60 year old mother said the programming was “inappropriate for a family TV time slot” lol. I thought both the A and B storylines were fantastic. I was laughing out loud while I was watching and 3 of my friends came over and ended up staying to watch because they were so interested in what I was howling about. Good stuff. I am kind of annoyed that Leonard is such a sour puss all the time now though.

I dropped 30 Rock halfway through last season just because I didn’t have time to watch it and I was never too attached to it, like Kath. But when I had some free time a few weeks ago I marathoned the rest of the season (turns out I had only not watched 5 episodes) and I’m so glad I did! The relationship between Liz and Carol is so cute! Love Matt Damon on the show. And love that Liz is finally finding grown up love. I also love that they resolved the love triangle with Jack and he’s finally with Avery. Elizabeth Banks is genius on this show. I’m excited for Jack to become a dad, and the whole storyline this week about making tapes for his son, in case he’s too old and senile to impart the wisdom when his son is ready for it, hilarious! And when he found out it was a girl “I’m going to have to make new tapes.” LOL he used LIZ! So funny!

The Office was good. I thought the Cold Open was amusing. Toby and Michael were good together, especially with the play therapy bit lol. But I’m not as in to it as I once was. There are more amusing comedies out there.

OK two more. Project Runway. GOOD STUFF! I agree this season is great. I love the personalities, and they’re not all characters, which is nice. Mondo is by far my favorite at this point. This week’s episode, with the HIV+ reveal, powerful stuff. And yet Mondo just seems genuine and deep and everything you want to root for in a designer. After this week though, not sure who’s going to be in the top 3, other than Mondo. They’re all kind of slacking on their game.

Lastly, of course, Supernatural! I didn’t see this week’s episode yet (I missed the timeslot by an hour, accidentally) but I’m intrigued in the direction of the show this year. Glad you guys like that it’s on a Friday night, but me being a college student, it isn’t the most convenient night to sit around and watch TV lol. I will catch up on it next day for sure though! Love me some Winchester brothers and I LOVE that you are both watching it now and that you’ve turned so many people on to the show just as you’ve turned me on to so many shows.

Thanks for reading my huge comment lol. Love the podcast. Keep ‘em coming!

By Kristen on Oct 2, 2010

Seriously, just thinking about that again almost made me freaking pee my pants. That guy needs some serious therapy… I do love the show, I literally want to eat everything they make. There are still a lot of chefs, so it’s hard to know who’s who, but one I certainly do love is Zac. Such a cutey, and he’s so funny and sweet! Oh, and I’m really excited for the Top Chef all star season! I think it’s supposed to start in December, so that’s probably pretty soon after Just Desserts ends.

I’m a little lukewarm on Project Runway this season. For some reason these last couple of seasons (basically every season since the Christian Siriano one) I don’t really care about most of the designers. I do like April this season and of course Mondo. Curious to hear your take on this past (pattern) episode. shows..there’s not too many good ones this year… As far as dramas go, one I was interested in has already been canceled (Lone Star) and the other one I really only tuned into because of Maura Tierney (The Whole Truth), but it won’t last too much longer I’m afraid. The comedies are even worse this year, there was a couple I was gonna give a chance only because I liked some of the people involved, like Mike & Molly (Melissa McCarthy) and Better With You (Jennifer Finnigan/Joanna Garcia), but those are both pretty awful so I don’t think I’m gonna keep watching them. Oh well, there are still enough good “old” shows that I enjoy (Mad Men, Chuck, Modern Family, Cougar Town (dead baby lasagna!), The Good Wife, Sons of Anarchy to name a few…) that’ll keep me entertained :-)

I don’t know when you’ll be podcasting next, but it might be close to the Friday Night Lights season 5 premiere on DirecTV. I’m so excited for it to come back, yet sad that we’ll only have these thirteen episodes and after that it’ll go away forever..sigh.. So here’s a question; what would you want to happen when they come back? Do you have any fantasy storylines in mind for returning characters? What do you want them to explore for Coach and Tami?

And finally, I don’t know if I’ve been listening since the beginning or whether I tuned in sometime during the first “season” and listened back to all the eps I had missed, but I know I’ve heard all your episodes. I have to agree with the above posters that mentioned the Fiona Faraday thing, I still get a smile on my face thinking about that. The two of you have such an effortless rapport that I can’t help laughing right along with you. I get so excited whenever I see a new episode pop up in iTunes, especially when it’s a long one (TWSS). Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for your awesome podcast!

Love from a very appreciative listener from Holland,

By Juul on Oct 2, 2010

  16. I haven’t been listening since the beginning, but I have been listening for 3 years, and when I started I did go back and listen to all of your episodes, twice. My favorite moment probably has to be when you were talking about the blind contestant of American Idol going on tour. “What if they lower him from a moon?” hahaha! I can’t remember what episode that’s in but it’s always made me laugh. Also the talk about 9/11 followed that and you were still laughing “We’re not laughing about terrorism” lol. You guys are so good. I really hope someone does make a greatest hits podcast/youtube video. :]

By Kristen on Oct 3, 2010

  17. You guys are a newer discovery for me but I have gone back and listened to almost all your previous episodes. As result all the people I know love think I’m crazy because I spent countless hours in a corner by myself laughing my ass off. However it was well worth it because you guys are extremely entertaining. As for my favorite moment from the podcast comes from a so you think you can dance episode where Kath discussed purchasing a little black boy. It was a comment that came out of nowhere & caught me off guard but made me laugh so hard I nearly crapped my pants. Now onto what we are all here to discuss tv. I categorize shows into the 3L system which stands for love, like or loathe.
There are times I love this show there are times I loathe it, so I figure that averages out to a like. I watch it every week but sometimes ask myself why. Loved 2nd ep of season though.
I love house entertains me every week Hugh Laurie is a genius. I like the Huddy dynamic. I think the show is doing it well. I especially enjoyed 2nd ep in which they struggled with how to work together & think that is going to be an entertaining overarching theme for this season. Is 13 coming back? I hope she does & I hope its soon.
    Gossip Girl=Like
I like gossip girl, but it is a show that can sit on my Dvr for a couple of weeks before I watch it. I love Blair & Chuck its just a little difficult to watch the rest of the characters sometimes because they are so stupid. Get a DNA test already, yes Dan Humphrey I am talking to you.
    Nathan Fillion enough said.
-I used to what Chuck & I still would but I don’t have time or room on the DVR.
    Glee=Love Love Love it
I am all about glee. I am not slightly obsessed I am completely obsessed. If I had to I could write a 10,000 word essay on my opinions on the show but I not going to bore you with that. Let me just highlight a few things. One I love how complex almost all the characters are. There is not a single character who is either all good or all bad. my favorite character is Rachel. I love that she can be so confident in her ability as performer but be so insecure in just about everything else. It is that insecurity when it comes to her personal relationships whether it be romantic or friendly in nature that allow you to route and care for her character even though she can do & say really bitchy things to try to keep her status as glee club’s top performer. Two, I also love the shows ability to be self aware. In the season premire I was rolling on the floor during the opening sequence with Jacob especially when Mr. Schue seemed shocked that people did not like his rapping. Third, the character of Brittany is the funny character that I have seen on tv in a long time. I laugh at just about everything that comes out of her mouth. Ok I think its time I move on.
    Raising Hope=Like
I like it and agree with you guys that I can deal with the over the top moments as long as it continues to have sweet moments as well.
    One Tree Hill=Loathe
I used to love this show when it first stated back when I was in college but now I loathe it. Even though I loathe it, it is like crack I just can’t stop watching it. Mainly because I still care about Nathan & Haley.
I still watch. I find it enjoyable. I don’t hate cate but I don’t love her either & I think that is the big problem with the show. I love Shiri & I truly believe that it is not the actresses fault for why we dislike Cate I believe that is on the writers. When I go back and think about all the episodes in this show all the heartfelt moments are between Lux & Baze. If the writers would write heartfelt moments for Cate & Lux as well it would be a better show overall.
I still enjoy the show. I liked this past weeks episode the best so far this season. I really like the interaction between Sara & Amber it is my favorite part of the show. I love Lauren Graham.
-I dvr’d no ordinary family have not watched it yet but will give it a shot because I do love Autumn Reeser & Julie Benz.
The Middle, Modern Family, Cougar Town=Love
I love all these shows the make me laugh and they are consistently good.
    Better With You=like
I like this show I don’t love it. I agree that the guy who plays Kacy is awful but truthfully I am not a huge fan of any of the male characters maybe if you took Kacy out their orbit I would be ok with the other 2. However I really enjoy the 3 female leads. I think Joanna Garcia, Jennifer Finnegan & Debra Jo Rupp are fantastic.
Bones is one of my favorite shows. I am more than ok with them bringing Hannah in as long as it helps Bones realize her true feelings for Booth. Last season Booth stepped up & admitted his feelings to Bones & she shot him down. It is her turn to work for it because frankly since the beginning of the show if she would have ever told him that she wanted him he would have jumped at the chance. I like that if she wants him she will have to work for it.
    Greys Anatomy=Love
I am back on the love train with grey’s which surprises me to no end because my status with it a couple seasons ago was a big old LOATHE but I gotta give Shonda credit she really has turned it around & I love that Sarah Drew is a series regular now.
    Private Practice=Like/Loathe
I am not sure if I like or loathe this show but I have never missed an episode. I really like Kadee Sticklands character Charlotte. I also enjoy that they made caterina Scorsone who plays Amelia a series regular. I really enjoyed that actress on an old lifetime show 1800 missing.
-I do not watch The Vampire Diaries when the season airs-just got to much going on in real life. I did buy season one dvd and I am slowly catching up & I love season one so far.
I do not watch anything really on Friday or Saturday but I can’t wait for Friday Night Lights to come back.
    The Amazing Race=Love
I really enjoyed the first episode this season & I think it is going to be really good. I am pretty sure I would have quit if I got pummeled by that watermelon.
    Brothers & Sisters=Like
I like that Justin came back from war and was to most put together & solid character-it was some nice character growth. However super annoyed that writers did not just kill Robert off in the car accident. It would have been different if Rob Lowe came back for the season premiere & we could have the scene where Kitty pulled the plug and she watched as he breathed his last breath but the way they did it was just stupid. Also I think I am really going to miss Rebecca I love Emily Van Camp. I would rather have her as a series regular than freaking Gilles Marini I don’t care how good he looks in his underwear.
**Thanks for all the laughs & pure enjoyment you have provided me & I hope it continues for another 4years, actually I hope it continues much longer than 4 years**

  18. I’ve only been listening for a few months but I love you guys! This 3hr podcast was the best. I worked nights this weekend and this ep kept me entertained on the 45 min drive to work and kept me up on my 45 min drive home at 4:30 in the morning. Keep up the good work!!

By Candy on Oct 3, 2010

  19. only 3 hours??
i don’t think a person on here wants you to talk for less haha

i haven’t been listening for 4 years – maybe 4 months but i’ve gone back and listened to everything that you’ve done

personally i think that the occassionaly video blog would be awesome so we can actually see what digby is doing – im pro digby!! – and your expressions which im sure are hilarious and watching you guys crack each other up is something that would be fun to see

  20. I’ve been listening for about 2 years now and loving it so much. Now here’s my problem- Do I accept your month long breaks if I get these fabulous 3 hrs shows? It’s hard to decide because this was pretty awesome, you all. I have to disagree with you on two shows, though. You all hooked me on Parenthood in the first place and then you dropped it?! Come on! It’s really good. I really like it alot. And the Event? This past episode was pretty damn good. I enjoyed it. I think you all should give it a chance. Just a thought :)

  21. hockeybychoice, thanks for shouting out The Glades! I agree!!!

Such a fun podcast, it really helps to get me through my boring job at night. I listened to it the other day so I don’t have any direct comments about the most recent one, but I wanted to help build up your comment numbers, haha. If I actually have a productive comment, I’ll add a follow up. :)

  22. Oh, I agree about your Greys Anatomy and Private Practice comments..still watch both…I’m really looking forward to the last couple of Mad Men episodes….my only question is will Elisabeth Moss submit her Emmy consideration as Lead or Supporting Actress? She’s second billing this season. I think both she and Jon Hamm have their WELL DESERVED Emmy’s locked up!

I still contend that I like the summer shows better than fall. There are only a few that I feel I must see right away, as compared to summer. Psych, White Collar, The Closer, In Plain Sight, SYTYCD, Covert Affairs…sigh…how long ’til summer?

Really enjoying Cougar Town and I’m glad I can catch it online. Also, Biggest Loser is on Hulu and has CURRENT episodes this season (it was always a week behind before).

By toast with JAM on Oct 7, 2010

  23. OMG you guys are amazing! Look at the comments. The length of some of these is too much to take (okay, that was totally just so I could type THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!)

I’m loving people talking about some of their favorite moments, because I’ve blocked most of them out. LOL

Keep it up and you’re all fucking amazing.

By Ducky on Oct 7, 2010

  24. First off, I admit to being kind of ridiculously excited that you read my comment on the podcast. I have to say I don’t mind the long podcasts, since I get to drag them out over many car rides.

    Now to business.

I know your TV schedules are busy, but how can you pass up Nikita?! It’s my favorite new show this season, and is rapidly gaining ground to be my favorite show currently. Maggie Q is fantastic and Melinda Clarke (predictably) is amazing.

Mad Men is still amazing, but everything else I’m so behind on. Except Real Housewives of DC and Atlanta, because I love those ridiculous shows. I cannot wait for FNL to start up again, although it’s sort of bitter sweet this year.

I’m not feeling Project Runway at all this season. I don’t like any of the contestants, and I strongly disagreed with the judges. I am digging Amazing Race for the first time in awhile.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts on Caprica. I was a huge BSG fan but could not for the life of me get into Caprica.

  25. SyFy’s doing a US version of Being Human.

By JasTay on Oct 8, 2010

  26. I’ve been listening to the podcast since the beginning, though you do not have to enter me in the contest so you can give the award to someone who is interested in having sex with Captain Awesome (unless of course I exchange the award for quality time with Sarah Walker).

As for my favorite moment, I always enjoy when you forget that people are actually listening and talk about crappy shows no one would actually admit they watch in public. For instance, when are you guys going to get into a discussion of the most awesomely-bad show currently on television: I Love Money 4? Or at the very least The Challenge: Cutthroat.

By Scooter McGavin on Oct 9, 2010

  27. Does it count if once I discovered your podcast I went back and listened to every single one from the last 4 years?

By Holly on Oct 10, 2010

  28. jasTay – still not sure what to think of the syfy version of being human, guess I’ll have to wait to watch it, but as a huge fan of the original, I’m honestly not sure how it can compare. The office (US version) a very different show to the British version, and the only other remake that springs to mind is Life on Mars, which while the UK version was amazing, as far as I know the US version bombed.

And I honestly don’t think anyone they’ve cast compares to Aidan Turner (The Vampire) for “teh hot” and the camp, but adorableness of Russel Tovey who plays George (the werewolf). Kind of curious to see the remake, to see the differences and similarities but not holding out loads of hope.

By laiq on Oct 11, 2010

  29. Oh, guys….I can’t believe it’s been 4 years. For some reason it makes me feel a bit old :) I’d been here from the beginning. I was there at the beginning of GMMR (I’m so proud of what it has become. Getting Korbi and Marisa brought it to a whole new level.) I learned of you from Fatback and then discovered duckyxdale. I’ve read every post since. It’s sad how much I feel like I know you in that internet kinda way. I’ve been there through the years; employed, unemployed, surgeries, and trips. It’s been pretty fun.

While I love every podcast my favorites would be the early two idiots talk lost. Oh, and the fact that in the beginning it seemed like every intro ended in a fit of laughter.

By Strunkette on Oct 12, 2010

  30. JasTay/Laiq – I can’t deal with a remake of BEING HUMAN just yet. I mean, the show is still in production/on-air and its in English, so there’s no reason not to just watch the original. Maybe if it had already ended and was in Japanese but…

    Strunkette, sigh… you’re amazing!

By Ducky on Oct 12, 2010

  31. I can’t believe you’ve been podcasting for 4 years! That’s just crazy talk, but you guys are pretty much the experts at that. I’ve actually listened since the beginning and I’m still on board. I was a big fan of The Office and Tanster ( was linking to GMMR recaps. I remember back then I had a 1 GB ipod and didn’t have much space and I had to decide between the TV Guide podcast and the TVTalk podcast. Despite TV Guide being a corporation, your podcast was hands down a million times better. I think I made the right choice! Even if its much more recent, my favorite memory will be of the Fiona Faraday Fiasco. LOL!

I can’t thank you enough for turning me onto TV shows like The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural, which have turned into my two favorite shows on TV. Getting me to watch Buffy and Angel! Also thanks to Ducky for getting me to watch those BBC shows like Doctor Who and Being Human, which are just awesome!

BTW that picture of @ErnestoRiley was taken down. :(

I have to agree that there are no freshman shows this year that I am excited for. I started watching the Event and it reeked of Flash Forward, so I dumped it after the first episode. No Ordinary Family is interesting and even if it does have plot holes large enough to drive dumptrucks through I’ll watch because its entertaining.
The Walking Dead is the only new show I’m really looking forward to. I’ve just started reading the graphic novels (wow are they graphic!) and I think this show will be amazing just based on them!
Thanks for talking about Dexter! My sister encouraged to watch it and I’m so happy she did. I’m hooked on it and cannot get enough now. I have to say my only problem was that I knew what was in store for Rita. It was so difficult watch the whole series knowing what a terrible fate she was in for.

    Please Ducky, write for GMMR!

I agree with nikki nz! I would love to see a short video blog, if nothing else just to see cute little Digby. :)

  32. RE: Your “contest” with Ryan McPartlin.

Your mouth shouldn’t write checks that your ass can’t cash. :P

As for what my favorite TV Talk Podcast moment is, do I even need to say it? It was #40 on 8/18/09! Experiencing it LIVE and getting to be a guest commentator! Back before we knew Glee was going to derail plot-wise and teasing the hillariousness that was Modern Family. Oh, and admitting that I’d become a big ol’ Greek-er too.

Oh, and Kath? You’re totally the big dog now, just takeover DDTV & MAKE him write for you. :)

    By Tim (@rural_juror) on Oct 15, 2010

  33. Been listening to the show since very close to the beginning. Came in around the 5th or 6th episode and have loved the show ever since.

I can’t really pick favourite moments as I have loved every minute I have spent listening to you guys. From the carcasts to The Piemaker shows, I love everything you guys have done.

For the past 3 1/2 to 4 years you guys have had my favourite show to listen to and I hope to continue listening to you for years to come.

By shanemd on Oct 17, 2010

  34. Actually I do have a favourite moment. A little over 2 years ago you read out one of my email’s on the show and I geeked out like a mother fucker.

First time someone had read out of my email’s on their podcasts and it felt awesome to know that you were readig the feedback the audience gave you.

I was in a real bad place around that time.
I had an injury from work that forced me to leave that job and it took me a long while before I found new employment and your show really helped me through those rough times.

I thank you for that. from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

By shanemd on Oct 17, 2010

  35. I haven’t found much new this season, save for No Ordinary Family and Detroit 187.

One aspect of the podcast I do rather like, which since it’s all technically spoilers, is talk about Project Runway and Top Chef. It usually take a bit of time after they start to show in Canada so it’s nice to know what’s happening and stuff to look for when we do get it eventually.

    By @TheOneDeej on Oct 19, 2010

  36. Juts to add, I love the devider bits in this podcast so I can skip the shows I don’t watch, although most of the time I still listen even though I have no idea what you’re talking about and its usually still hillarious and interesting x
